Ayton Cottage at Captain Cooks Haven
Captain Cook's Haven is beautifully set on two levels nestling beside the banks of the River Esk as it winds its way from the rugged beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors towards the bustling seaside resort of Whitby just a mile away.
These cottages offer an ideal touring centre for exploring the nearby fishing villages sandy bays and seaside resorts. You enjoy the use of a superb indoor heated swimming pool and alongside the pool is an exciting playground for children of all ages.
The historic city of York Castle Howard and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park are also within easy reach.
The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway also runs from Whitby to Pickering and passes Captain Cook's Haven.
Enjoy a ride or walk along the old railway track towards Robin Hood's Bay 6 miles.

We all loved the location of our home for the week my two sons particulary liked being able to sit on the balcony of our upside down cottage and watch as steam trains went past on the railway track below overall the ideal place for a quiet family holiday. I would recommend Captain Cooks Haven ad the cottages are very comfortable and well equipped and being able to walk into Whitby in around 25 minutes is a great advantage. Mr W
Captain Cooks Haven is a lovely sitewith great views of the river Esk. The accommodation is goodand we certainly hope to return one day. Mrs P
Having been to Captain Cook's several times I would recommend it for all ages. Good walking not far from Whitby a good swimming pool for all ages brilliant views and the passing steam trains by the river are absolutely marvellous. Mr B

What a beautiful place to stay! Our highlight has to be the steam trains that past by our balcony every day add to that the magnificent views and idyllic location only a stones throw from what has to be the most beautiful seaside town in the UK Whitby! Quaint historic and mystical we will be back again very soon! Mrs B
