Captain Cook's Haven is beautifully set on two levels nestling beside the banks of the River Esk as it winds its way from the rugged beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors towards the bustling seaside resort of Whitby just a mile away.
These cottages offer an ideal touring centre for exploring the nearby fishing villages sandy bays and seaside resorts. You enjoy the use of a superb indoor heated swimming pool and alongside the pool is an exciting playground for children of all ages.
The historic city of York Castle Howard and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park are also within easy reach.
The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway also runs from Whitby to Pickering and passes Captain Cook's Haven.
Enjoy a ride or walk along the old railway track towards Robin Hood's Bay 6 miles.

We think that Captain Cook's Haven is perfect for families because it is safe friendly there is plenty to keep the kids entertained with the playground and indoor swimming pool and it was very tranquil. We will definitely be returning! Mr B
We return to Captain Cooke's at Whitby every yearsometimes just the two of us. This year we also took the entire family. This year we had three holiday's at Captain Cook's!.....because we like it so much. My wife became unwell during the holiday and all the staff went out of their way to help us. Mr F

A beautiful location and the walk over the viaduct into Whitby was very enjoyable with lovely views over the holiday village. Captain Cooks Haven is an ideal base for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Heartbeat country and Whitby. This was our second visit and we were blessed with dry sunny weather all week.
