For those not wanting to venture too far the park offers a wide range of facilities to suit all ages and all tastes.

Shops are just 2 miles away and the immediate area has many good restaurants and inns. A car is advisable to get the most from your holiday.

I would absolutely recommend Sherwood Castle in Rufford as we had an extremely relaxing and fun holiday. There is SO much to do for a family within a 20 mile radius; Rufford Lake Sherwood Forest Sherwood Pines Clumber Park - great to hire bikes and quite cheap too Edmonstowe is a beautiful village to visit - great butcher Twin Lakes is excellent. Too much to do not enough time! Mrs H

Great for small children like mine. Simple indoor and outdoor activities and perfectly placed near Rufford Nanor where you can easily while away a day without cost in its grounds parks and lakes. Mrs S
